Turn Up Your Summer Sizzle With Dance

AMRO-Blog-1-28-17

With June at a far distance and August just around the corner, it’s safe to say summer 2018 is in full swing. At Arthur Murray Royal Oak, the dance floor has been abuzz with activity. If you’ve ever considered ballroom dance, now is the time to join the party. This a great season to start a new hobby or brush up on your existing dance skills for so many reasons.

Try Something Campy

If you are like many of us at Arthur Murray, you’ve spent part of the summer researching activities to keep your children busy while school is out. The options can be daunting! Day camp or sleep-away camp? Play-based or academic-based programs? While you’re busy signing up your loved ones for some summer stimulation, have you considered what you deserve for some fun? What will keep you stimulated? Consider dance!

Our studio is like the ultimate camp for adults. With various classes rotating throughout the week and flexible hours, we make it easy to fit dance into your schedule. We’re open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Beat the Heat

Did you know that residents in Phoenix and Las Vegas experience an average temperature of 90º F or more during the summer? Royal Oak may be in low 80s, but the average humidity level in our great state of Michigan is 88% during June, July and August according to weather.com. This makes for some sticky, icky outdoor air!

Beat the heat and enter our studio, where it’s generally a cool 70º F. Students coming from work often arrive early and bring a pre-workout snack to enjoy before their class begins. Our friendly staff and undeniable love-love relationship with the A/C makes us the cooling center you never knew you needed.

Redefine Date Night

Whether you have a summer fling, blind date or life partner, our dance studio is the ideal place to spend time with someone special. Try putting a little “twist” on what a night out together means. By ditching the good ole movie and dinner date idea, you can get a little closer with your partner by learning a new dance style.

We have several students who choose dance as a way to stay connected with their significant other. Julie and Jon, both physicians, dance here as a couple to unwind and have some fun. If your partner hasn’t visited us before, we can even provide you with a guest pass.

“Fall” Into Good Habits

The reality is that we are only two months away from the season of leaves changing colors, crisp fall air and football watching. Signing up with a studio now commits yourself to a healthy pastime and consistent exercise before Halloween candy, Thanksgiving feasts and decadent holiday treats come to tempt you.
